Breath Therapy, what on earth does this entail? Mouth to mouth resuscitation? :-) Not even close. We have breathed from the first moments after leaving our mother's womb and will continue to until the day out physical bodies cease to function. Yet the way in which we breathe is worthy of further evaluation and possibly modification. The power of rhythmic, circular, whole, controlled, or conscious breathing is hard to explain to somebody who has never experienced it. It is empowering beyond imagination to those who practice it. Coupled with meditation, yoga, or just about any other spiritual practice, it can lead us to a new awareness of the worlds around us. Practicing it energizes us beyond measure to carry out activities in the physical world and be sensitive to the voice and guidance of Spirit in the other world.
Many people after they learn of the power of this method of breathing realize that some regular activity that they participated in had them doing it without their even knowing they were. I use to walk for miles and miles and miles and currently ride a mountain bike great distances. When walking I would get into a cadence or rhythm with my breath and steps. I am talking about walking at a good clip too. I imagine my heart may even have joined into step with the music of my lungs and feet. This was 10 years prior to my reading the book 'Breathing" by Michael Sky, which opened my eyes to the power of breath. Wondrous thoughts would develop while doing this. Problems or the negative perception of them would evaporate and solutions would present themselves. It is as if my transmitter and receiver to the other side gets turned up.
You also can learn the magical empowering nature of this conscious and the methodical approach to what is otherwise an automatic activity you have done all your life. Coupled with other activities this talent can open new doors for your minds eye to view the world through. By itself it can be of great help in balancing and cleansing dysfunctional patterns and perceptions that have kept you from finding your way along your path in life. Let me teach you of this form of therapy that you can practice and use to empower your whole existence. |
